Voyage of the Horizon Seeker

[JadedDM]

Ulster and Thuskar are dragged away by Jerrard. The captain and the first mate go after them.

"I thought that went well," Malika says, after Ulster is gone.

Once the others catch up to Locky, the captain steps forward. "What's all the noise here?"

"Another stowaway kender, captain," says the first mariner.

"Damn, that's the seventh one in a month," he replies.

[HorizonsDream]

"Not as well as it could have gone," Imani admits as she watches everyone rush off. "What do I do now?"

[Jenara]

"I am not a stowaway, please tell them. I am actually a Cleric of Paladine." She smiles smugly, holding tight to her symbol.

[Jerrard]

"This is Locky, she is with us." Jerrard says moving beside the Kender, "She is indeed a Cleric of Paladine."

[JadedDM]

"What's a Paladine?" asks one of the mariners.

Only the captain seems to recognize that name. "Hmm, interesting. Paladine is what the westerns call the Skyfather, Eldin."

Another mariner scoffs. "Aw, come on. She's a kender. Probably stole that medallion. That's what kender do."

The captain shrugs. "Nevertheless, it seems she is our guest. Orin," the captain adds, turning to the minotaur. "I'm surprised you allowed a kender on the ship."

The minotaur actually stutters. "C-Captain, I-I swear! It was dark, I didn't see a kender among them!"

Imaran laughs heartily, patting the minotaur on the back. "It's fine, old friend! What's done is done, yes?" Turing to Locky, he says, "You must forgive my crew. We get so many kender stowaways, they just jumped to conclusions and none of us knew there was a kender on board for legitimate reasons." Turning back to his crew he says, "This kender is our guest. Nobody shall touch her. Understood?"

"Kender are bad luck!" one sailor calls out anonymously.

"More or less bad luck than disobeying me?" the captain retorts. Nobody has an answer for that. "Well then, back to work, all of you! Nothing more to see here." Hesitantly, the crew disperses and returns to their duties.

[Jerrard]

"Locky has saved my life on more than one occasion." Jerrard comments to Imaran, "She will be useful, I assure you. As for your First Mate, Kender are often mistaken for Children, she was many times." He shakes his head, pulling the Kender close to him. "You have my word that she is not like others of her kind."

[Jenara]

"Thank you, I was getting a little worried, see I can't swim, and your sailors wanted to have a word with me. Lots of people treat me differently.. Stowaways you say? Where did they go?" Her trail of thought keeps shifting as she stands by Jerrard.

[JadedDM]

"Stowaways are often thrown overboard in these parts," the captain explains. "In any case, there is no harm done."

Meanwhile, back where Babushka, Malika and Imani are, Malika says, "Now that you have his attention, you need to move in for the kill. I suggest you try and get him alone somehow. That's not easy, on this boat. But do the best you can."

[Jenara]

"Thank you." Locky beams before darting of after Malika and the other women.

[HorizonsDream]

"But the point is to get him to come to me," Imani points out.

[JadedDM]

"But you can't leave everything up to chance. He hasn't exactly pursued you on his own, yes?" Malika points out. "You need to create the opportunity. Find an excuse to get him alone, then let him think it's just lucky chance, and he can make the move."

[HorizonsDream]

"Create the opportunity," Imani repeats softly. "I'm clueless on how to create that opportunity though. It is doubtful that the deck is going to be littered with people at night, right?" she asks. "So then I would have to get him out here during that time somehow, but I'm not sure how to do that."

[Jenara]

"Can I help?" Locky asks, looking up at them. "You know they wanted to throw me overboard? How funny, I can't swim... I wonder if there are sharks??"

[Breila]

Seeing that none of the tall women will listen to her, Babushka turns to Locky. "Oh, did they? Tell me more about that." She leads her kender friend to the side, trying to find a seat where they won't be in the crew's way, and prepares to get her ear talked off. Still better than the boredom of a voyage...

[Jenara]

"Oh well, you see they wanted to throw me in, they thought I was a stow. stow... someone who sneaks onboard and tries to get a free ride. Seems they have had lots of Kender do that, after hearing what they do to my people there....." Lowering her head the little kender starts to cry...

"Why did we have to leave them, I bet that horrible Wahid had lots of money we could have taken to pay for them. Its not fair, yes we borrow things, but we dont mean to hurt anyone." Sobbing gently she wipes her nose on the first thing she finds, ie her sleeve.

"Why do people do that? And why can't I wear things like that?" Lifting her head she looks at the two women, suddenly perking up. "You make clothes, don't you, could you fix my old top so its better for the sea?"
