He checks all common smuggling locations on deck, calls for a few men to help him, grabs one of the captives, then heads below.

Above deck, there isn't anything special. Nothing hidden in any place he would have thought to check. Going below deck, there are a couple of barrels and a chest or two, and the galley. Next to one of the chests sits a chunk of a shiny blue metal, something he hasn't seen all that often.

"Roscoe!" he calls out, looking for his man. He grabs the blue metal, stashing it in his satchel.

As he stashes the metal in his satchel, a man walks up next to him. "Whadda ya need?" the man says, looking at the chests.

"Loot the ship" he says. He turns to the captive pirate. "Is this all?"

The pirate looks at Jacen, "This... this is all we've been able to get in the past few weeks."

As the crewmen looks at the chests, it is clear that they are both locked.

He pulls out the key and tries it on the chests. "Roscoe, go check all the common smuggling locations."

(OOC: Did I mention that those keys have some HARDCORE magic on them?)

As he tries to put the key into the lock, the Quartermaster puts her hand on his shoulder, "I thought that this is where I'd find it. Also, I wouldn't use that key if I w-" she says, but the key itself shifts to fit the lock. It turns on its own, and everything around them seems to fall away.

As Jacen wakes up, he sees trees. Not just any trees, but green and lively trees. Looking around, he sees that the Quartermaster is staring into her hand. "I told you not to do it." The smell of a lively summer is around, with the sun high in the sky above them.

(Sure, but Jacen wouldn't know that.)
"What. The. Hell." Jacen exclaims dully. "Where are we?"
He stands up, looking around.

(OOC: Any of the others go and Meta this, and I'm going to destroy their XP gains.)

The Quartermaster looks around, "It's magic. Most likely in a whole different plane."

As she says this, someone walks out of the forest, dressed in overalls and a brown shirt. As they walk forward, the Quartermaster gets up, "Really? Gonna come and talk to us here like this?"

The figure stops, staring at the Quartermaster.

"Oh, it's you Shandra. I see you'v- And you brought Jacen. Fantastic."

"Uh... hi? Who are you and where am I? What plane is this? Do you... know her?" Jacen blurts out.

"Who I am does not matter, and where we are is something for you to discov--"

The Quartermaster interrupts with, "Demiplane of Seasons."

The figure stops, sighing. "Fine, spoil it for him. Might as well tell him who I am too. That was a joke, and you are -not- allowed to tell him."

The figure starts strolling around, her feet uncovered in the grass, and her orange hair following behind her. "Yes, this is a demiplane, but It's one of /my/ demiplanes. I know everything that happens here, so don't be stupid."

"Oh, and to answer your question before you say it. No time passes outside of this plane."

"So... are you a god? And... what do you want from me?"

"Maybe."

"As for why you are here. It's a long drawn out tale about those keys, another story about the world itself, and an entire theory encompassing everything I'm saying. It's all because of those keys."

"Can you explain? No, wait, that will take too long. Can you sum up?"
