[Posts lost between Dec 10 2021 and Jan 18, 2022. The party discussed their next course and returned to town. Zafron and Tabbi grabbed an extra week of rations each. everyone restocked their spent food and acquired some new ropes.]

Zafron leads the group back to the first Great Hall.

Bryce does a quick check of the hall to be sure nothing has changed significantly. He then ponders the mosaic of a monstrous creature behind a barred door. Can't help but think there is more to this fellow... especially if he is 'The Tormentor' mentioned in the riddle...

"I say we head back in the original way through the arch. I really want to insert the ring we found in the slot on the wall in the prayer room." says Zafron.

Bryce nods. Yes the 'magic loop of metal' seems like a solid clue. Hopefully deeper in will lead us to our goal rather thanside tracks, although... he ponders his own thoughts silently for a few heartbeats before motioning the others forward and leading the way. Taking a breath before the portal of glowing mist, he steps through as before and vanishes..

Van will make sure everyone goes through, then will follow.

Traveling through the portal leads once again to the dark room with the 3-armed gargoyle statue and on to the second great hall. Bryce continues through the black illusory sphere and the group crawls single-file through the long tunnel until they return to the chapel.

The pews remain open, save for the front row. A portal of glowing, swirling orange mist stands in one corner, and the glowing opalescent altar in the center.

Zafron will head to the wall that had the slot in it with Tabbi. He will go along the wall. Not going down the middle.

Did we pick up all the treasure that we found in the pews? I don't remember. Are we tracking it somewhere?

[We did, it is listed in the roster thread i think and also in the character sheets of those that had capacity for it in the bags of holding. Either way, we can say they stashed it in camp when they stopped back. ]

Zafron and Tabbi move down the East wall until they come to the railing. Rather than take the main aisle, and previous path of lightning, they hop the rail and continue until they find the small slot in the wall. The opalescent altar glows nearby, almost menacingly...

Van laughs, a very fake laugh.

"It's probably safe, as long as Bryce isn't at the altar!"

Bryce shoots his brother a stern look, then breaks out in a grin. Safer than you trying your hand at it. he laughs. Bryce moves to check the area around the slot once more before giving Zafron the nod

Van clears his throat and heads to the hallway and goes around the corner.

Zafron take the magical ring and inserts in into the slot.

Tabbi stands 10 feet back along.
