Vic points to just before the line of shadow marking the cavern's entrance. The leaves and twigs seem to be laid out acoss the width of the path as if hiding something.

Val can not see in the dark. "Unbar do you have a light source?" if not he will pull out a torch and light it before entering the cave.

he will stop on Vic's command.

OOC - Unbar has 60' of darkvison.

Unbar stops at Vic's command and looks at the area Vic points out.
Seems we have a choice. Head in sneaky like, head in bluntly, or set this off and see what we can stir up and pick off.

Unbar examines the leaves and twigs laid out acoss the width of the path. He reveals a three foor wide trench stretching across the entrance to the cave. The trench is a couple of foot deep but is filled with wooden spikes fashioned from a plant akin to bamboo.

Isaril stands ready to support whatever plan the heroes decide.

"That third option is interesting. As long as we can stop anything that comes out of the cave from going back in. Though. Is this the way the villagers went?"

Isaril says, "Yes. Goblins went in afterwards. A few goblins, far less, came out. They travelled with large wolves. Villager-dwellers are in trouble."

Alright. Third option is out then. Doubt we'll have time for the theatrics to pull it off. He rolls his shoulders as he loosens up. Straight in then? he queries. Quite obviously preferring the non subtle approach.

After Vic translates Isaril nods, "They do," as he casts a spell. His skin darkens, roughens, almost like gnarly oak bark. (elven) "Ready when you are!" The druid's body cracks and flows into something shorter and wider: a giant frog with rough brown skin.

Initiatives, please. And, what next?

The frog is medium size.

Val will reach his weapon and stand to the side of the pit to cut off the exit from the cave.

Can we get a map of the cave mouth and the pit.

The pit [brown rectangle] can be automatically stepped over by any medium creature that is aware of it and not in a rush.
Small creatures that are aware of the pit can automatically pass to the left or right of it.
Just north of the pit all is in darkness.

Vic will stand away 20ft down from the pit, and 10ft to the left.

He will hold his action to throw a firebolt at anything that is hostile that makes it's presence known.

Round 1

The gnarly frog hops over the spiked trench and disapears into the darkness of the cavern. As Val prepares to guard one side of the trench he hears the 'Thwang! Thwunk!' of numerous bow strings from within the cavern followed by riveting, a pause, and then Isaril's voice, (common)"A little kelp in here?" A high pictched "Brreeankh!" and a squishy "Thud!" follows.

Vic will move the minimum into the cave to see the targets.

He will fire at the one closest to the Toad.
