Round 1, continued
Val moves in through the twelve foot wide cave mouth that arches some twenty foot towards the clouds. After his eyes adjust he sees a vast cavern with a forest of stalagmites in its center and some ten foot high ledges along its walls. Water drips from the stalactite-covered ceiling, which rises to a height of 30 feet in the middle of the cavern. What appear to be naturally formed tunnels lead away from this central cavern. The floor is littered with broken spears, broken shields, and drops of bat guano. There's a pool against the northeast wall of the cavern, the floor of which is lower here. Runoff from the pool trickles eastward out of the cavern.

Goblin archers stand atop the ledges, although on the left side one archer lays crumpled and unmoving on the cavern floor just beneath the first ledge Probably Isaril's doing. The mountain man takes a swing at the nearest goblin who is perched behnd some cover on the first ledge on the right. The blade snicks only air.

Scant seconds pass and Unbar trundles in. The frog has disappeared but the is a fairly pissed-off looking Isaril a few foot ahead leaning against the righthand wall. The cleric looks up and points at the archer on the right. The baleful dole cracks fragments off the goblin's rocky cover but the goblin remains unharmed.

Almost as one the goblins duck behind cover only to pop up and shoot arrows at our heroes.... one arrow hits the ground next to Unbar, another finds a weak spot near the neck in Val's armour [#6, AC21, 3 pierce] and a third bounces off his chest.

Vic enters the cavern and casually immolates an archer on the left of the cavern.

Round 2

There's a popping noise as bubbles erupt from the hot mud pool just to the left of the entrance. The irrregular pool covers perhaps thirty foot in length and fifteen foot in width. There is an odour of rotting cabbages. Meanwhile Isaril moves north and disappears between two rock columns. Only those with the sharpest eyes note him silently slide northwards between the deep shadows.

Val stays on mission and scewers the goblin [#6] skulking on the ledge above him. By any measure it's an impressively accurate thrust as three quarters of the small green fellow was behind rocky cover. There's a lot of whiny shouting from remaining goblins as the goliath moves nortwards ready to menace the next archer. [#5]

Unbar stands ready at the entrance to the cavern, ready to avoid [Dodge] any incoming attacks or swipe at anything that tries to run past him.

The archer nearest Val hides from sight at the back of the ledge and then emerges further forwards a few foot to the north to release an arrow at him. [#5, AC22, 6 pierce] The goblin than moves back and is mostly [75% cover, AC+5] concealed from Val.

In retaliation Vic closes towards Val's attacker [#5] and tries to incinerate him. Despite the sorceror's better angle [50% cover, AC+2] he only manages to set fire to some lichen behind the goblin.

The goblin in front of Val is he on a ledge or on hiding behind something? I need to understand the lay out of the land so I can move appropriately to attack that goblin.

If nothing new emerges for Vic to fire at, he will fire at the Goblin. If Val climbs up and takes it out, I will have to make up what I want to do.

Round 3

As Val tries to climb up to the archer's ledge the rock crumbles away under his weight and the big man settles instead for trying to hack the goblin when next it reveals itself.

Unbar moves up to try and protect Vic, nearly catching up with the longer legged sorceror. The dwarf looks up, mutters some words and points at the goblin archer on the ledge above Val just as it looses an arrow. [Vic, AC22, 6 pierce] "Boing!" The goblin clutches its throat, chokes and spits black slime onto the rock below. [#5, 2 necrotic] Simultaeously Val launches an almighty swing that would likely have cleaved the goblin in half if it had connected with aught but air. [#5, miss] The green creature ducks down, again crouching at the rear of the ledge.

The mud pool near the cavern entrance heaves and splashes as something bursts through the surface. The creature, tusked and bipedal, stands up.. and keeps on standing up until it reaches its full nine foot in height. It strides forwards, reaching for something behind the rocks, calling out in a deeply resonant voice as it does so. It tries to give Vic a bad day with a modest sized tree trunk. [Vic, AC18, 9 crush]

The group's sorceror waves his hands in vertical 'S' shaped motion and utters two aracane words. There appear to be fours Vics, all merging and wavering back and forth as they all start to hurry away from the large tree-wielder. The large fellow seems to take exception to this and swishes with his tree knocking an illusionary Vic into oblivion. [Vic's duplicate, AC25, 15 crush] The sorceror and his remainbing pair of duplicates hurry into the narrow passageway to the east.

A second ugly humanoid, over ten foot tall, this one female, stretches leisurely it wanders from the columnated area in the middle of the cave and saunters [Dash action] up to Val, large club raised.

Round 4

A large elk comes into view from the northern end of the cavern and rams the large female. [Something else, AC21, 13HP crush] She doesn't even wobble but the giant elk does seem to have gained her attention.

Val takes full advantage off the diminutive giantess's distraction and his halberd scores a bloody line across her shoulder. [#SE, AC20, 10 slash]

Unbar concentrates on avoidin being squashed by his large attacker. [Dodge action. Bonus action still available]

Taking no notice of the dwarf, the diminutive archer [#5] pops up and launches an arrow which lodges in the elk's hide. [#5, AC15, 5 pierce] The elk lows. Something does pay attention to the dwarf and smashes a tree trunk down where Unbar has stood only a heartbeat before. [Dodging avoids the crit of 26 crush]

Vic pops of of his hole like a mole snuffling at the first smells of a new sping. He hurls abuse and a packet of scintilating energy at the large female [#SE, AC16, 12 psychic] before scuttling back inside the eastern passage. She booms some words in the grinding tongue of giants and then flattens the elk with her tree trunk. [Elk, AC20, 16 crush]

A voice used to commanding sounds from deeper in the cavern, "Putta that shield on! Getta in here!"
