Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Round 9
Isaril sheathes his scimitar before breaking another arrow on the cavern floor as he misses the goblin [#8] just north from Val. The druid climbs down to take a flanking position with one of the big goblins. [#BG2]
The fracas further south fares better as Val buries his glaive in the big goblin’s shoulder. The reckless green fellow falls and this time stays down. Val allows himself a moment; puffs up his chest and straightens his shoulders. He looks to be feeling better!
The newcomer steps back into sight and flicks an arrow towards the southernmost goblin. The arrow breaks ineffectually on the cavern floor. The crown-wearer’s voice booms out, “Yousa stand up straight!” A number of the goblins look to be feeling better!
The drama literally heats up to the north as a seething Unbar barks, "Enough playing!"and calls upon divine power to made his Warhammer glow orange red with heat. Ignoring the flanked big goblin to the north he focuses on the goblin’s king and uppercuts with a blow that would damage any normal goblin. The king leans back, almost with cinematic slow motion, and the blow misses him by inches. Drips of Water drips from the ceiling onto the Warhammer making it appear to spit steam as it continues to glow with searing heat.
Vic’s afforts from above are rather dramatic! He hurls abuse and twinned bolts of scintillating energy at the king and one of his bigger subjects, "Keep at them Boys! They are just a pack of Coward Greenies!" The bolts decide they’re going to be electrical as one strikes the floor behind the crown-wearer and the other scores a line of black pit-marks across the big goblin’s shield.
The goblins burst into action after Vic’s insults, one [#8, AC9 miss] swinging ineffectually at Val. The big goblins work as a team against Unbar, one striking true! [#BG1, AC22, 3 slash; BG2, AC3, miss] The leader yells, “Yousa getta in here!” and yet another weedy goblin pads into view. [#12] The king shows off his sword skill and slices thrice at Unbar. [King, AC19, 6 slash; AC16, 8 slash; AC21, 9 slash] A weedy goblin joins the mayhem raining down on the dwarf! [#11, AC19, 8slash]

Val moves in between the goblin 8 and the King to flank the King with Unbar which will not create an opportunity attacks on Val. I have moved Val on the map.
Val swings at the king to get advantage:
Attack: [1d20+5]=13+5=18
[1d20+5]=9+5=14
Damage: [1d10+3]=4+3=7

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Round 9 (update)
The goblin king's third sciimitar slash cuts Unbar down. The dwarf cries out, "But the villagers," as he collapses to the floor. Vic cries out, "Damnit Unbar!" just as the the weedy goblin [#12] hacks at the unconcious dwarf. [#12, hits, autocrit!, Unbar takes two automatic Death Saving throw fails!]
Round 10
After the elven druid makes coughing and barking noises the badger coughs back as it emerges from behind a rock column. It tundles up beside Isaril and its sharp claws reach out to menace the big goblin's nether regions. The distraction is sufficient for the druid to open a wound in the goblin's side! [#BG2: AC25, 6 slash] Not quite out of spells he utters a Healing Word at the fallen dwarf. [Unbar regains +6HP and consiousness, but is currently prone]
Val skirts around his adjacent golbin [#8] to hack at the crown-wearer. [King: AC18, 7 slash] The goblin's leader reacts* with stunning speed, shouts, "Cover me!", and pulls one of its followers in as a shield. The hapless minion ends its life on the business end of the goliath's glaive.
Silent as an assassin Luka step sideways to gain a clear view of the goblin's king and loose an arrow that draws dark blood from the green-skinned leader. [king: AC17, 11 pierce] He snaps off the arrow dismissively and calls out, "Yousa getta back here!"**
Unbar blinks and softly groans as he grabs his warhammer and levers himself up and then further as he stands upright. Brief prayers to the divine repair most of the dwarf's wounds. He plants his feet and utters a hopefully inspiring "Right then."
Up on the ledge Vic moves slightly South, and lobs a firey bolt at the Crowned One, [king: 2 fire] blistering his neck and gaining his attention.
The southernmost goblin skitteres away from the phontom bowman [Luka] and then scrapes its blade along Val's armour. [#8, AC14, 7slash]
The duo of big goblins flanking Unbar continue to chip away at his defenses. [#BG1, AC19, 7 slash] [#BG2, AC14, 7 slash]
Still looking up at the ledge the orcs' leader calls on the Unsleeping One's fire to incinerate the sorceror. [Vic: DEX saving throw or 6 radiant] He bellows, “Yousa getta in here!” and another goblin emerges from amongst the central stone columns. [#13]
The northern weedy goblin decides to give Isaril a bad day. [#11, AC23, 3 slash]

I shall post after work today. Lunch is not long enough I find.
Unbar blinks and softly groans as he grabs his warhammer and levers himself up and then further as he stands upright. Calling upon Moradin he will cast cure wounds on himself with his last 2nd lvl spell slot using a blessing of Lathander as he does so.
Maximized upcast heal for 18hp
Standing and not feeling as dead as he probably should, he plants his feet and utters an inspiring "Right then."

Round 11
Isaril barks and coughs again at the badger who grunts and menaces the weedy goblin’s calf muscles. [#11 is disadvantaged] Aside from the comradery with the badger, the druid stays with slicing and dicing the surprisingly tough big goblin. [BG2, AC18, 6 slash] The bloodied goblin grunts but seems set on cutting down Unbar. Craning his neck the druid catches sight of Vic. He smiles and gestures, almost as if blowing something from the back of his hand. Vic feels a breath of sun-warmed air, a moment of relaxation, and then it’s gone. But the sorcerer does look less beaten up. [Vic regains 10HP and gains 2 temp HP] The goblin leader calls out in an authoritative tone, "Yousa getta back here!"*
Evidently having had enough of his green-skinned harasser, Val winds up his polearm and sweeps it through a full three-quarters rotation. The brutal blade barely slows as it removes the goblin’s head from its shoulders. [#8, AC24, 18 slash] The surprised-looking head disappears with a bounce into the darkness before the body flops to the ground. The big man moves across to support Unbar.
At the other end of the cave the elven newcomer becomes one with the shadows before revealing himself a few paces to the left as his arrow punches a bloody hole in the southernmost big goblin. [BG1, AC18, 10 pierce] Thebloodied goblin howls but stays on his feet. For a heartbeat Luka hears an answering howl from somewhere outside the cavern. Perhaps the wind? Or perhaps a large wolf? The moment passes as Vic’s voice sounds from above, "Unbar? What are you up to down there?" The elven archer follows the cavern wall westwards.
Unbar strikes his shield with his warhammer and calls down the Radiance of Moradin! Whilst two of the goblins surrounding Unbar manage to avoid the buring light, the third doesn't and dies screaming! [#BG2, fail, 4 radiance]
The Unsleeping One's fire leaves a scorch mark on the rock wall near Vic but don't affect the sorceror who retaliates with a jet of flame! With the Reactions of a leaping cat the goblins' king grabs one of his subjects [#13] and interposes the hapless thing as a shield. It drops, lifeless, to the ground.
The big goblin doesn't do so well without its flanking partner and only manages to scrape a line across the dwarf's sturdy armour. [#BG1, AC18, 7 slash] Intercepted by Val the kings tries to cut the mountain man down to size. [King, AC 24, 4 slash; AC16, 9 slash; AC10, 8 slash] He bellows, “Yousa getta in here!” and yet another weedy goblin emerges from amongst the central stone columns. [#14] Further north, the aother weedy goblin, distracted by the badger, nearly throws its scimitar away. [#11, AC5, fumble!]
Without any fanfare other than the wolf's low growl, five goblins enter the cavern. One of them is mounted on a large wolf.
