No problem. I was just thinking you might have dropped out of both games, seeing as your last post here came on the same day you dropped off LWW's game.

May I ask Tempest to put Elias' description in the Character Description thread, please?

I've been wondering why I have no image of Elias in my head, and it turns out it's because I have no idea what he is or what he looks like.

IL and Jen together have brought up a good point. Are we trying to progress a story, or are we trying to role-play?
The way I see it, this is the time when we get a handle on these characters, determine who they are and how they interact with each other and with the world around them.

It is also an opportunity for me to give everybody an idea of what the world around them will be like, and of what they can expect from it. So, the food at a roadside way station is cheap, delicious, and greasy (imagine that). The "wizard" at the corner table turns out to be a druid (but what's with the honey?). Unwatched stableboys will steal if they can. Rain can be trouble for travelers.

We are all "learning" each other, and you, the players, are learning this world.

In a game where magic and monsters exist, "realism" can't really be said to apply, but "verisimilitude," the appearance of realism, is one of my goals.

This is Day One on the road, and the first half of Day One at that.
As the game goes on, there may be times when the momentum of events unfolding trumps the sort of detailed interaction we have going on right now, but right now I am enjoying the role-play, and I hope you are, too.

I'm fine with it. Thanks for informing us, though, Stik.

Like I said, I'm happy.. I'm here to Role Play, this is exactly what I'm here for!

Angel needs to come out of her shell.. It will happen, under that bluff and grump she's a cute woman. I'm RPing her to the hilt as it were..

Yes, and I agree, lets see elias and some info. He's faceless right now

Heh, I'm sorry. I'll try to post Elias's info as soon as I can. I've been really busy preparing lesson plans for my English classes here in China.

Tomorrow is Saturday; hopefully I will have time then.

No worries about coinage, Friv.
Penge-soldat is like checkers, or chess. It's not really a betting game, unless you decide "make the game more interesting" by putting money down on it.

No worries, I just thought I was holding up the gaming. Then I went on vacation. :D

Ah for the days of middle school, where it would have been socially acceptable to pull out my bow and shoot the gate guard in the face.

"Bribe" is such an ugly word.
I prefer "honorarium." Or even "gratuity."

Is giving a bribe to a gate guard normal in the Empire or is it more a sign of its increasing degeneration?

I ask so that we know if this is a common occurrence.
