"Right. Try not to breathe the fumes," Ulster suggests. He cuts down the dried up pods and puts them into a big pile. Then he sets his torch to them. They burn quickly, releasing a foul, black cloud of smoke that quickly fills the chamber and starts seeping into the nearby chambers, as well.
After about five minutes, the pods are nothing more than ash. By this point, the torch Ulster is carrying is about to go out. He retrieves the very last one from Jerrard and lights it before they are left in total darkness.
"This is our last one," he says.

"Well, then we'd better hurry" Babushka says. "Locky and I can guide you back, but you two can't fight in darkness"

"We should go back to the bedchamber, fashion some torches from the bookcase and come back." Jerrard says as her looks rather scared in the darkness.
"Follow me!" Locky says, then laughs, "you can't see me, can you."

"Well, we have this one torch left. And maybe there's something useful among all these potions in the vat room." Babushka reminds them.

"Guess we have a choice then," Ulster says. "If we go exploring and the torch runs out, we'll be lost. But then, there's no guarantee the torch won't go out while we're looking for the Shroom. I don't see how the bookcase will help, though. Even if Jerrard doesn't stub his toe on it again, even if we had the tools to carve out torches from it, wouldn't we still need rags and something to soak them in, as well?" he asks.
He shrugs. "Still, you guys seem to have a better idea of what you're doing than I am. Before this, all I ever worried about were highway bandits."

Babushka stops. "Well, what other choice do we have? I haven't seen anything resembling a lantern or even candle holder in the shroom's rooms. And we can't leave the others without light, either.
We have three choices right now: One, continue here, with the risk of running out of light and you men having to rely on us girls to guide you back to camp.
Two, go back to camp now, evacuate everyone and come back. But evacuation would take the whole day, given that Elvenoff and Shay are seriously wounded.
Three, go back to the shroom's rooms and look for a light source there. There are doors from the vat room we haven't checked yet.
So, what should we do?"

"Of course I am silly!" Locky cries, all this backwards and forwards was making her confused, first they go up then down, could they even GET up the slope again???
"Let me try something first." Patting Babuskha on the arm to let her know where she is she attempts to ascend the slippery ramp.

"Hmmm" Jerrard ponders, his hands in his beard,
"The plants you saw, they looked from the Glance I had to be Mushrooms?" He asks Ulster, hand still in his beard.
(Plant lore check
1d20=16, do mushrooms burn?)
(Did a quick check online and it appears that Mushrooms burn pretty much the same as wood.

)

Locky finds that as long as she is very careful and moves at about half her normal walking speed, she can ascend the slope without problems.

"And no, the plants looked like empty pods used to breed podmen."

"Yes, yes I would if that's ok, I hope this 'affliction' is curable, I have studied plants all my life." He keeps his hand where it is, watching Locky climb with a smile... who would have thought it.. He found the Kender rather sweet and endearing.
"Ohhh, I meant over the river, where Locky and Ulster found the coins, and that Sword." He looks to the rusty sword Ulster carries. "I'm a little shaky, scared, my brain isnt working right. But there is something about them." He walks forwards slowly, climbing the slope to the best of his ability.

"Simple my dear, if the mushrooms burn, perhaps we could use them as a light source, thus negating the need to go back." He responds, his brain was clouded in fear, yet he knew what he was doing, a long forgotten idea
