Vee snatches up the halfling and, in a quick pace, makes her way over to the group's house where she presumes Brax to watch over Searos and Gunter. Not too soon, because when she is turning the last corner, Kolup suddenly stops talking and goes limp. Vee can't even feel a breath any more. (OOC: LittleLuna and Bish Gada, please join Jenara's private thread now)
For the rest of the group's convenience, here is the map of the Sea ghost again:

As Vee lifts him swiftly over her shoulder Kulop says in excitement,
"Whooaa!! You are quiet strong. Is it something you eat? I could never have guessed it with this slim body of yours. Tell ya what, it is strange to look at the world from..." the sounds of his chattering fades away as they gain distance from the ship and turn over a corner. (OOC: chatter continues in Jenara's private thread... not so private anymore eh?

"I do hope he'll be alright." Martin says, his voice overly thick with concern.
"Alright: important safety tip: Don't go opening locked chests without a key. Also, keep an eye out for keys.
"Now, let us see about this next door, shall we?" Martin approaches the door in the forward side of the cabin and looks at the latch. If it is simple, he opens it.

The door latch is simple, just enough to keep the door in place as the shio is swaying. The room behind it is dark, since it has no bull's eye. Martin's half-elven vision adjusts quickly, though, and he sees that this is evidently a storeroom. Two coiled lengths of rope and three rolls of sailcloth lie on the deck alongside a large box. A large wooden cask stands next to six lengths of wood planking. Set into a wooden rack, fastened to the bulkhead by the door are two metal-headed hammers, two wooden mallets, two saws and an adze. There is an opening, about 3' square and with its lower edge about 3' above the deck, in the other bulkhead.
There seems to be nothing of value here and the area is apparently unoccupied.

Gustas keeps out of the doorway so he doesn't block any light. The room looks hopelessly dark for him to see anything so he instead calls out, "Well any of the good stuff in er Drake?"

Martin mutters a little sing-song under his breath, something like: "Why do birds suddenly appear...ev'ry time...you are near..." before saying: "Not much to see here, just a closet. Two boxes, probably tools.
"Let us look next door, shall we?"

The next door opens to a stairway leading down.
(OOC: I presume Martin meant opening the next door, not looking through the opening in the left wall)

[OOC] Yes, I meant the door, rather than the opening. I figured the opening just connected with the next room (which we just found out is the stairway). Does it go all the way through to the stairway? Or is there a chase crossing the stair overhead? [/OOC]
"Stairway. We should get some candles - ze stairvay can be...treacherous." Martin looks at the stairs askance, then backs out of the doorway
"What's next door?"

The opening does not connect with the stairway, straight ahead there is a wall. In fact, all but the smallest group members would have to duck when they go down the steep stairs.

Gustas has a quick glance around to see if he can be of any use and find a source of light, "Ehts... see..."
His tipsy lethargy simply musters, "Stairway? Yup need em candles"

Reller moves to get the lantern for the group and returns. Lighting it on the way back, he ducks inside to give the area some light.

"Bah!" Gustas grunted as his eyes adjusted to the lamplight, "Good un there, I'll follow behind yer."
The light shining on the scales of the little dragon catches his eye. Gustas takes a moment to shake himself of his googly stare.

As Reller, Gustas and Martin go down the stairs, the smell alone tells them where they are heading: it is undoubtedly an area occupied by more humans for a longer time than suits the possibilites of aeration. In other word, it stinks. The entire forward area of this deck seems to serve as the crew's quarters, with eight hammoks slung between support poles. They have sea chests below them. In the center of the room, a table and two benches are bolted to the floor. Under the table, a bucket stands, filled with cups and plates. To the right, a small area is curtained off. If there is a door to the main section of this deck, it can only be seen if you go all the way down the stairs.

"Corr!" Gustas moans, covering his nose. "I hope that new friend of yours didn't just pass wind!"
