Simone lets out a string of curses in her native tongue once she is thrown back. She quickly stands back up, puts away her crossbow, and starts to walk around towards where Alenka is.

Wallace has had enough playing around. He casts Arcane Bolt and fires it at the Genlock attacking him, blasting it full on in the chest. The creature's armor absorbs some of it, but he still takes heavy damage. However, it is still not enough to take him down for good. Alenka then hits it with a mild Arcane Lance, but it's only a glancing blow. In retaliation, the genlock swings its mighty axe at Wallace, slicing it across his chest. His Rock Armor saves him; only a slight cut is left behind. But the genlock is now joined by his companion, the one hit Simone earlier, who has drawn his own axe and is fast approaching.

Somewhat perturbed at the Genlocks' attempt to knock her into a ravine, Simone puts away her crossbow, gets up and moves toward Alenka.

The Alpha roars and swings his axe at Davne's head. She only just barely gets her shield up in time to deflect the blow. The Freewoman then attempts to counter attack, but the Alpha is just as skilled with a shield as she is, and blocks it.

As the fight continues around her, she hopes her allies can defend themselves sufficiently, as this foe was taking all of her attention and proving an equal match...

Wallace backs away, getting closer to the edge of the ravine, but he needs some space to operate efficiently. He fires another arcane lance from his staff at the genlock attacking Simone, but his aim is off and it goes wide.

Simone draws her short sword and moves closer to her own opponent.

The Alpha roars and swings his axe in a large arc, hitting not just Davne, but Alenka, too. Alenka backs away, sweat on her brow from all of the magic use. Nevertheless, she summons another Arcane Bolt and fires it at the genlock going after Wallace. The impact strikes him right in the side of the head, blasting off his ear and some of his skull. The genlock falls to the ground, twitching.

The other genlock swings his axe at Simone, catching her across her chest and leaving behind a small slash of crimson.

Davne retaliates against the Alpha, striking out with her blade. But he throws up his shield and blocks it, before chuckling darkly.

Despite the Alpha's mockery, Davne's confidence grows ash she senses the battle turning in their favour. She retorts "Barely a scratch" through gritted teeth.

Wallace aims and fires another arcane lance from his staff, but it just narrowly misses the genlock, flying over its shoulder.

Simone moves in quickly, gracefully sweeping the genlock's leg and knocking it on its back. She then tries to kick his axe away, but the monster manages to hold on to it nevertheless. Alenka casts another spell, firing an Arcane Bolt toward the prone genlock and striking it right in the side, causing it to bleed profusely. Outraged, the creature gets to its feet and strikes at Simone, hard. She hears a rib crack as she's thrown back some distance, skidding to a halt just before reaching the edge of the ravine. A feeling of vertigo threatens to overwhelm her as she looks down to the bottom, but she manages to get herself steady and step away from the precipice, waiting for her stomach to quell.

Finally, Davne and the Alpha continue to fight one-on-one. The Alpha strikes again, catching Davne in the shoulder. Refusing to back down, the freewoman retaliates and manages to draw blood, slightly, by cutting the Alpha across the cheek with the tip of her blade. It's little more than a scratch, but the Alpha's face twists into rage that she dared draw blood from him.

OOC: So pending the determination of whether Genlock 4 is within melee range for 'dual strike' here's what I'm thinking.

If not in range, use pierce armour + Disarm Disarm Roll (3d6+3=16) (if successful against Alpha's roll send 1d6 yards north) + Skirmish (2) (Send Alpha 4 yards south)

Simone gets back up and starts making her way back to the genlock that keeps knocking her back.

Wallace casts a spell, firing another bolt of spirit energy--this time at the Alpha. The bolt hits, lightly singeing the darkspawn.

Simone walks back to the battle, just in time to be struck again by the same genlock as before. He strikes her so hard in the chest, she hears bones breaking. It's clear she won't last much longer at this rate. Alenka fires an arcane lance at the genlock, but he ducks to avoid it.

Meanwhile, the Alpha and Davne continue to exchange blows. The Alpha swings at Davne, hitting her in the arm; luckily her armor absorbs the worst of it. Davne retaliates, striking both the alpha and his last cohort in succession, striking hard enough to bypass most of their armor. The Alpha steps back, surprised by this show of power. The lesser genlock, though, is on his last legs. He appears to be on the verge of collapse. It's clear from the malice in his eyes, though, he fully intends to kill Simone first.
