Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country

Well if they tracked in here then they have to be here somewhere. I will scout around and see if I can find anything around here. Does anyone mind if I grab these short swords and a dagger for my boot before heading out to sneak around? He tosses the Goblin Scimitar back on the pile he picked up earlier. I have plenty of arrows but if we drag it all back to Nightstone we may get some coin for it.

Well I will take a shot at skinning this Worg. I realize I am butting in on your mission but I was sent to check on you and feel it is my duty to hang with you all until we return to "The Flower" to report our findings and success. I will wait to scout until everyone has had time to rest and recup just incase I find something bad in here and we have to fight again. Until then I will work on this worg pelt.

He then removes the Wicked Looking Knife from the earlier Goblin Kill and starts to skin the Worg.

While Luka is skinning the Worg. Even though he trusts his life with Unbar and Val, the Harpers are even bigger than him.
Quietly:
"If she sent you, I will trust you. Do you also play any musical instruments?"

Well I have no musical talent to speak of. But I can assure you that "The Flower" sent me to make sure that nothing bad had happened to you. If you need someone checked up on or a silent warning sent, then I am your Elf but I have no musical talents. I have been told that I can play a certain metaphorical Harp really well and on occasion the Air Guitar, but only when I have been drinking. But that is another story when we have more time.

So have you had any contact with the villagers or their rivals at all? It would seem they should both have a common enemy with that Goblin tribe running around all over. My Kind do not take lightly the transgressions of goblins in any location. I wonder if we made a mistake not keeping a goblin to interrogate. Could possibly have found the villagers easier.

He was getting concerned that the elf didn't catch his meaning, but the mention of the Harp puts him at ease. He will quickly flash his pin.
"Isaril here came to our City of Splendors looking for a mediator, but when we returned with him, we found the smashed town."

What could have blasted the town apart like that? Was there anyone there when you arrived? It seemed strange to me that everyone left but the 3 people that are there now. An Innkeeper, a Stable hand and a Guard. Doesn't make much sense.

"The guard was too stubborn to leave, the Inn Keeper, was there to meet with other Zhents. If she is even the Innkeeper."
He takes a sigh that heaves his shoulders.
"We were told a castle in the sky floated over, and giants threw the stones down."

Why would a Giant Flying Castle care about a backwater town like Nightstone? We need to get this business done and report back to Daisy to let the powers that be get involved. There has to be something bigger going on here. I will finish hacking up this Worg and take a look around. They have to be here someplace then. And if I am not mistaken the Kinhg probably had a stash here too. We whooped his minions so we might as well find his stash of valuables too.

"The Nightstone, is now missing. I'd think that was the target."

So there is an actual Nightstone the town was named after? We need to get moving. Luka stops with the Worg and Shoulders his pack. Replaces the Wicked Looking Knife into it's sheath and grabs his bow.

I will scout the side caverns and see what we have in here to deal with. Rest and be ready just incase I find something and can't get away.

He moves to the first passage to the left and starts down it. No light using Infravision, Staying in the shadows and Sneaking.

A short while later Luka returns to the main cavern.

Went down 9 different passages all to dead ends and there is nothing here but small grassy spots and a few old rusty pots and pans.

Then moves off to the next cavern hall to the west of the group. Keeping quiet and stealthy. Looking for any life.

After a short while Luka returns to the Main cavern battered and beaten but surprisingly stronger.

Hey, I found us a secure location with a big treasure chest. Let's all move in to this room. There is a large boulder that we can use to close as a doors. That will secure us for a rest and we won't have to worry about being attacked.
