Sweet. I've added you to the forum permissions and put a private thread up for you in the Labyrinth forum so we can dig into the character creation.

Re: Labyrinth of Madness!!!
Are you full? I was considering a Paladin but not sure how that would sit with other characters.

Re: Labyrinth of Madness!!!
Sure, we can squeeze one more player in. There will probably be some issues with a paladin in the current party though. While the 2 necromancers may be ambivalent to the presence of one, a Paladin likely would not suffer the company of such companions
Re: Labyrinth of Madness!!!
Maybe he will be a Paladin of Vytholus, and have great insight to the dungeon, and get along just chippy with the Necros, lol

I finally got in. Am I too late, or part of your consideration already?

Re: Labyrinth of Madness!!!
Made it!
Regarding The Will and the Way, I've got a word version put together by one D.Stairs in my Dropbox:
Downloads/2E AD&D Stuff/Psionics/D.Stairs (ET1 USN Retired) Stuff / The Will and the Way Psionicists expansion source book - the bottom file in that folder. (I am not D.Stairs) There are a few errors in that document, compared to the dead tree version I have, but they're pretty minor.
The meditation rules start on page 47 of the file. It boils down to making a modified save vs spells every 10 days until you've made enough checks for the thing you're trying to do. Self improvement is 50 days, power modification is 80 days, new power research is 120 days, and researching your High Science is 200 days.
How big a role do the NPCs play? Looks like we've got a front-line fighter in the Firbolg. Do we need another front-liner?
How much down time is there?
I'm currently thinking Neutral Good, alignment-wise. Not planning a paladin, so I should be able to tolerate the little Belkar wannabe.
Now to go figure out how to use your dice roller...
Edit:
Okay, here are my character ability rolls:
Roll: 290193: [3d4]=8,[3d4]=12,[3d4]=9,[3d4]=8,[3d4]=8,[3d4]=9
Roll: 290194: [4d6k3]=8 [4d6k3]=12 [4d6k3]=15 [4d6k3]=14 [4d6k3]=14 [4d6k3]=16 [4d6k3]=12
Can Psionicists benefit from a Pearl of Wisdom?

Re: Labyrinth of Madness!!!
Ok, I'll have a look but it sounds like the meditation stuff is a way to further advance psionic abilities outside of the campaign that would happen prior to the arrival at the Labyrinth. While I might allow a little of that kind of thing in principal, since we had another psionicist start without that opportunity I'm not sure how well it will fit the balance for them. But I'll look at it this weekend.
The NPCs are a couple of other players that dropped. I kept the chars around to keep the party strength from dropping too much. I did let one of the other players take over the thief (b/c npc-ing a thief in a place like this with loads of traps can be tricky and I want most of the ideas to come from players). But in general the npc's play their role in the party when needed and act as a sounding board for discussion (or occasionally for me to drop in small hints).
It probably wouldn't hurt to have another front line fighter, but the necromancer is working on raising some undead monsters (trolls to be specific) so they will most likely fill that role to some degree; though obviously not as effectively as a pc could.
Nice! Not bad rolls for either option.
Haha! Yeah, Belkar is fun
Downtime is pretty limited in this one-shot. A certain amount could be said to have been done before a pc is introduced, but once they enter the game it's not substantial. Basically it is a dungeon crawl, but the pcs can head outside to the camp to rest for as long as they want... Though if they spend too long recovering the forces of the labyrinth will likely make some moves, and the surrounding jungle may begin to encroach. The camp is supplied like a mix between a traveling merchant or war camp. Most mundane equpment and supplies can be had there, and there would be low level healers and such to assist with things in general (but raising the dead and the like will be up to PCs). And the camp is full of replacement adventurers should a pc die, so we can say their new one was just in camp waiting their turn
Clerics can be general or of a specific diety. The Complete Priest Handbook, Demihuman Dieties (FR), Faiths and Pantheons (FR) are all available. If you have something in mind just let me know, but in general I look mostly for official sourcebooks.
Starting spells is discussed in the "Rules and Guidelines" thread under "Magic". If you read that and still have questions then please let me know.
Yeah a psionicist can benefit from a Pearl of Wisdom.

I'm working on a Fighter or Ranger. Frontline, either way.
