Just got back from six days at SCA Gulf Wars, followed by six days in New Orleans.

Re: Check In Everyone!
So I have now been a widow for just over a year, lost my Partner (Jerrard) In August 2022 and its been a long and winding road.
I'm happy to say that I have guided my son to his 18th (in two days) and now have a lovely new rather beautiful Partner who is a tad older than me and shes utterly wonderful.
Anyway I thought I'd drop by.

Re: Check In Everyone!
There is... honestly, literally, no way to follow that update, Jen...
That said, i'll sacrifice a portion of my humanity to go next by mentioning that after a F5ck!n6 8u||$#!7 year where work iliterally blew The F5ck up, I got remarried, my exes all contacted me, and my new brother-in-law got himself hitched for the 2nd time... I came (heh) out the other side only marginally the worse for wear...
Also quite glad you found a compatible component in this Bullshit crazy-ass existence (shit, was I supposed to be self-sensoring again, wasn't I?).

Re: Check In Everyone!
I have been really absent here for a while, and there were some big events in my life during that time.
It started with me getting Covid four days after the last time I posted. That sent me to the doctor, who noticed my high blood pressure.
That kicked off two months of various tests and ended with me in the hospital getting open heart surgery in mid-June of 2023: a quadruple bypass (although two of the bypasses were literally "we wouldn't ordinarily do anything about these two vessels, but since we're going to be in there anyway..."). I got lucky - the surgeon said usually the first symptom of the type of blockage I had is a massive heart attack. Had it not been found, I would probably have died on the battlefield at Pennsic in August.
I had to take six months off from fighting to allow my body to heal, but I was back in armor almost six months to the day after my surgery, and I'm like a new man out there, because I actually have a functioning heart now.
There have been some big changes since. I've changed my diet a lot, no more salt, no more fast-food lunches, no more Chinese take-out (well, only twice in the past year, anyway), no more chicken parmigiana dinners. I've started exercising, and I'm down about thirty pounds since getting out of the hospital.
Lucky and happy to be alive.

Re: Check In Everyone!
I'm here. In London for four years now. Started a DND club at the SEN secondary school where I work. Slowly teaching ASD children the wonders of DND. Wife and children are fine, as well.
