I would both prefer and be a Paladin. Being a paladin is just something cool, in my opinion. I would prefer to encounter one because Paladins can be reasoned with while Assassins tend to be rather straight forward.

I'm feeling Sam Fishery today.

We'll go with assassin.

Edit: It amuses me that the paladin failed his spot check and didn't vote in the poll. Go assassins.

Between the two, I'll take a paladin.
Assassin's never get grateful peasants offering them free food and such, y'know?

If I had to be one.... Assassin. I don't think I could be that restricted when, ahem, troubleshooting.

If I had to encounter one, Paladin~

I prefer to be an assassin, because I just love bashing those self righteous arrogant do-gooders

You stole my chance to make that come in... I better be an assassin serving NG ends and find a Paladin... Deluded into believing the Sun God, a deity of deceit that is himself evil but has paladins and antipaladins in his servitude because they serve his aim of gathering more power to become the only deity out there... I would relunctally kill the paladin knowing the poor powerhouse was a stubborn tool of evil...
