I saw this at a book store and OMG! So much good vintage material (with some of the new crap mixed in, unfortunately, but that makes a good contrast between the old quality and the newer lack thereof), hundred of pages and thousands of pics and good info. Fold-out pages of the original Ruins of Undermountain maps are included, and that sold me!
It's a great book. If it goes back on sale again consider the Barnes & Nobles Exclusive edition. It has everything the regular version has as well as six gate-fold pages of more maps and artwork. I picked mine up from B&N for $34 with free shipping so keep your eye on it. Either version though, it's a fantastic book.
Yeah, that B&N special edition is the one I want. Has the Undermountain maps. Which other fold out maps does it have, do you know? I didn't page through all of it.
Ok, now this has me confused. This version seems to have extra booklets and what not but I have no idea if it has the Undermountain maps and other fold out maps:
I took some pics when I got mine. This is the 6 gatefold pages.
Yes, the special edition version does have extra booklets but not the gatefold pages. That special edition is really nice. When it released it was $125. For the current price it's well worth it. I have been thinking about grabbing it also just to have but I just spent $1400 on my dog in vet bills this week, new D&D stuff is hard to justify at the moment.
There is also a single page map of Undermountain level 1 in the book right next to 2-4.
