Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

"OOO Tingly." He will pull himself together. "Felt like that time in this other dungeon, it was a Tomb for these Serpent Royalists. Where half the party got paralyzed."

Jag feels the collective of "eyes" on him.
"Seems to have slipped my mind this morning to prepare a dispel."

Nothing jumped out and attacked as I stepped through. Does someone want to come investigate the other end of the corridor? To my vision it looks about the same as the end we reached from the 'teleport dirt'. If it's a perfect mirror, there's probably a pit trap over here, too.

Stephen ponders for a moment. “Anyone know how long a gelatinous cube can survive without food? On second thought, it probably doesn't matter - the snake people could just come by and feed them every so often.

The life cycle of a dungeon cleaner isn’t something is picked up on in my locksmithing trade. We don’t have to worry about it right now though. My guess is our next problem is figuring out what is down that hallway.”
Axid states rather pragmatically.

Ke'Sha waits for Jack to go trough the portal and search a way to disable the trap from the other side.

"Good idea, I will see if there is something on the other side." Jack goes through then checks the border on that side.

"If all who are going through have gone thru, I will go as well." Axid steps thru and waits a minute before closing the portal.

(OOC: Wait... is there enough room for everyone? I thought both ends are too tight. If there is a room Ke'Sha and co. will join ;) If not he will try to support the group from the other side, or at least to be able to collect their bodies for his rituals :satan: )

[There is not a lot of room unless people want to start moving down the hallway]

Jack moves through the portal and takes a few minutes to inspect the edge of the magical area from the other side, but finds no way to deactivate it.

Stephen will back away from the 'mirror' location of the pit trap to give Jack better access.

Axid will put out a sheaf arrow and start tapping the area in front of him down the hall to test the structure or find out if anything happens. He isn’t moving into the next 5’ square, just checking it.

Axid taps at the floor of the new hall with an arrow, but nothing seems to happen as a result.

Ke'Sha stares at the dwarf proffesional examination of the maze for a while, then asks quietly: "Stephen, does your amulet detects some proximity to the trap? Do you think it is the numbing feeling Jack experienced? Our lord's servants are blessed with immunity to such affections. Before the Axid or Jack hurt themselves, let me send Mourkul to check."

Stephen concentrates on the temperature of his talisman.

Stephen's talisman feels warm, but he is clearly within 20 feet of the central room of magic.

Jack sees no line of demarcation on thus edge unless it is cleverly disguised along the seam of the floor stones. He takes a moment to check the middle section of the new hall but finds no pit trap in this one. Moving down the hall he continues his search, but suddenly vanishes!!

[C6]
Jack finds himself suddenly standing in the thornslinger room, facing the southern Bas relief carving... Landro regards the human with curiosity. How does the search go? I must admit, I'm eager to stretch my arms again with some swordplay...

<Jack! You still there? Can you tell where you are?>

(Upon receiving an affirmative reply, Stephen will pass that information along to Axid and Ke'Sha.)
