Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

He limbers up. Stretching and taking a few steps away from Binky. "Ok, Back in action." He goes to fly up to the top of the dirt pile.

Jack's fine. The paralysis wore off after about ten minutes.

"Stephen if you don't mind, 'port the others over this way. I have an idea for what has been found at the end of this hall."
[1d20]=10 (Levitate WIS - 3) 16-3 = 13 success.
Axid rises about a foot above the floor and pushes himself off the walls down the hall to where the block was found.

Stephen focuses his will on the northernmost and southernmost sections of the west wall. Instantly a view east appears in a 5-foot by six-foot patch on each wall as he connects portions of the two surfaces.

<Come on through, Master Jagrinder. Just watch your step as it can be a bit disorienting.>

Dimensional Door (Con-1=15): [1d20]=7
Cost: 4 psps

As I understand it, Ke'Sha and Gur are already on the "south" side of the room, leaving only Jag on the north. Stephen will close the dimensional door as soon as Jag steps through.

(OOC: BTW the misplaced brick is not magical, since we didn't detect anything. I guess Jack will easily verify it is safe and will do something about it.)

Having listened to the discussion, Jack will try to fly up over the teleport spot of dirt, if it doesn't work he will land on it. He will continue to float/fly to the block that is to be inspected. Taking the teleport to avoid the magic area if available.

Jag feeling like a drowned sewer rat with the slime will take the portal if it appears, and use the teleport spot to get back to the thornslinger room.

Jack flies up above the thornslinger bed, teleporting only as he lands. In short order Jag and Jack join the others on the far side. Axid levitates above the ground and, with a push, glides over to the necromancer clinging to the walls.

Jack flies over to join them at the suspect block. After a few minutes of inspection he agrees it is designed to be removable and does not appear to be trapped. Gur confirms the block itself has no magic upon it...

Removing the stone reveals a hole roughly two feet deep just large enough in diameter for a human person to reach inside. Angling the light he can see a metal bar anchored horizontally across the hole, close enough to reach...

"Maybe it turns off the teleport or maybe the magic hold area." Axid suggests. " Who wants to give it a go?'

"Sure. I can attach them back later anyway. Alrius, please go check this bar, without touching the floor."

=============================================================
(OOC: Not sure if Stephen is close enough but his talisman can easily rule out traps.
Alrius uses his climb walls ability to avoid the floor, will reach for the bar and report if he loses any important organs. Hmm.. now we should define important... So report losing ANY organ.)
