Act 3, Scene 1: Assembly and Supplication

The 2E AD&D Homebrew Sandbox world of Genwald is large, ancient, and magical. There are many undiscovered/untamed places. The Sun Kingdom (European style, Late Medieval Human NG Monarchy) is the basic Campaign area, but PCs can end up anywhere.

The scars of ancient battles of titanic proportions mark the land. Wild magic zones, fantastical terrain, grand adventure, political strife, and even artifacts of wonder await. Choose your part and come make your mark on the world. A wide array of unconventional races and classes are available.

Right the maps are links not pictures. Memory refreshed.
"Having access to your wares has been helpful. Some of these potions will surely aid us. I would say a battalion of your best fighters. But I think a subtle approach will be better. I don't want to seem ungrateful for all we have received, but any kind of magical aid might help. Scrolls to help us cast some more powerful spells, or Items to increase or fortitude. The armies of the enemy seem to be numerous, and we seem to be a magnet for them."

The lord murmurs in assent with Nocturno's logic. Agreed, attracting attention for something this sensitive would only give the enemy a target to focus its resources on. Something it would be wise to avoid. As for magical resources I understand. I will consult with my people who manage such things and see what can be made available. Perhaps we can send them along behind you. Do you intend to begin your journey to Lesoger today, or will you be staying another evening?

Bullock, mostly silent to this point, bows and adds, Lord Ulbert, your fortress here is impressive and the equipment your men carry is obviously of high quality. Unfortunately, my size prohibits me from taking advantage of the fine craft in a timeframe quick enough to make use of in our endeavor. I have already made arrangements with Mastersmith Gren in the Shield Ward to have such made. Anything that could speed that work would certainly help. I would of course be willing to pay the difference for any additional resources that were needed.

Lord Ulfbert nods, Yes, I see what you mean. Master Gren is an impressive craftsman, he was long the apprentice to the Master Smith of the keep's armory itself. Perhaps we can arrange something to facilitate that. Of course you understand that adding people to a task has a limit of efficacy, so there may be a practical restriction to how much more can be done.

Bullock bows again, Of course. Any aid would be appreciated.

"I think we would prefer to be on our way sooner than later, unless you think either of these items would be available if we waited another night." Nocturn adds "We would rather gather the piece and be on our way to complete our task before the enemy has time to regroup."

I cannot guarantee anything useful will be found before the morning, but I will send what I can so that it meets up with you. I take it your intended path is to follow the road until nearer Lesoger itself? Perhaps the items can catch up with you there or on your way back. God speed to you. He says in parting, setting about sending others off on errands to fulfill the request.

With the audience concluded Findalsip approaches Nocturno. "How big is this contraption? If small enough I might be able to fit it on my person and keep prying eyes find locating it magically. It is an ability we Deep Gnomes have to "hide" ourselves from those that wish us nothing but the worst. Life in the Underdark is, well, is "hazardous" at best. The more you can obscure, deflect, or hide the longer you can go on living. Hiding this 'thing' from others might give the group a how do you say it? Tactical advantage?"

Nocturno will produce the pieces he has.
(Pretty sure they are all fairly small disassembled.)
"That sounds like a prudent idea. We don't need someone tracking us."

"I'm doing what I can to help. It sounds like this thing that has stirred up the goblins and orcs and whatever else needs to be dealt with. I will admit to being curious but also very concerned about this danger. I just hope it has not made contact with Linar's less savory kin. THAT would be a problem of a much larger scale. No offense to him. He is of an honorable persuasion thank the gods for that."
