Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Axid almost smiles at the bar of soap being produced. "I'm sure your minions were just dying for a bath" Axid puns. "While I didn't see anything on the other side, current experience advises to look anyway because There is no telling what is over there. Maybe this magic floor has something tied in with that area. Your results may vary." Axid chimes in.

"I suggest you and Jack walk causiously forward and see what your amulet indicates about traps." Ke'Sha answers Stephen question.

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
“We are currently within 20 feet of at least one trap, and the open pit doesn't count. I suspect it's the magic floor, but I have no way of pinpointing it. Since the passage here is only 10 feet wide, I can't get far enough away from that region of floor to check. Can we send Gur and Binky to invisibly fly over the floor without touching it?”

Axid seals his bottle after the wash down and concentrates. A portal opens in front of the group and another opens facing the end of the hall on the other side of the 'magic floor'. "Here is the 'easy' way. when you get to the other side expect to be maybe disoriented." Axid interjects.

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Stephen looks through the portal to make sure it looks clear before stepping through, paying attention to what both his eyes and his ears tell him.
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
"Well... Gur and I will wait for your results."
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
"I I will float over and check it out. Could you give me an outline of where you saw the magic start?" Jack cautiously makes his way to be near the edge of the magic, and hovers checking it out.

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
After putting the water-flask away Axid concentrates and a portal opens, revealing the hallway opposite the room radiating magic. Stephen steps through, watching and listening. His amulet remains warm to the touch, but that is little surprise given his proximity to central room. From here the passage seems merely a copy of the first short hall, with a non-descript dead-end.
Jag's magical hand winks out of existence. Jack inquires about the border of the magical effect and Gur describes it as starting at the edge of the doorway. The rogue examines the area and finds a fine line almost imperceptibly worked along the seam of two floor stones, which must indicate the border of the effect. He does not seem to be able to deactivate it from here.
====
Fly from Jag lasts 12+1d6 turns, so 2hrs 10min up to 3 hrs. So far it has been about 27 mins (searching the walls of the pit, hosing folks down, searching the edge of the magic area took most of that time). Now the Time is 4:52 pm.
By now Bigby's hand has expired. It only lasts about 12 rounds for Jag.

"Found the border, but not a trigger or a way to disable it from here. Can you tell which type of magic?"

================================
(OoC) Actually, Stephen was looking/listening before wanting to step through. But since nothing jumped out and attacked him, it's not terribly important.
I think Gur was the initial scout who detected the magic floor. We'll need him to report. That or have someone actually cast Detect Magic.

Ke'Sha will say the type of magic that is radiating and will add: "Maybe the trigger is on the other edge, which you can easily access through Axid portal."

[The aura in the room indicates Enchantment and Alteration magics]
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
"Im wondering if any of your could dispel it?" Jack will say this as his sticks his finger across the border of the magic.
If nothing happens he will ask for the pole again, and poke the floor.

Stephen will happily pass his 10' pole over to Jack. “You can hang on to that if you'd like.”

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Jack mentions dispelling, but Allikhain shakes her head. Unfortunately the only iteration I had prepared today was directed at the green crystaline figures earlier.
The rogue's finger crosses the plane where the magic begins and a heartbeat later his muscles begin to numb and freeze as if he were being paralyzed. Through sheer force of will he manages to resist and draw himself back from the edge.
