Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

The Juju zombies move towards the second figure, attacking with little success. The crystal construct retaliate against Alrius, but with similar results. Axid maintains concentration on his barrier while the others hold position, some preparing spells or clutching weapons should the figure prove undaunted by the psionic barrier. The Dwarf focuses his will on the fire itself, causing it to grow larger and taller; essentially doubling in size. Just as the flames reach the appropriate height, the halfling Necromancer begins to intone his conjuration of the elemental forces of Fire.

Landro skirts around his allies and approaches the enemy from the only clear space available. Just as before, two prodigious swings of his gigantic sword prove sufficient to dispatch the green crystal golem into swiftly scattered vapors.

Landro, you're the best! Uh, should we tear down the other two mirrors to keep this from happening again?

With the green images dispatched Axid ceases the inertial barrier but keeps controlling flames active. “Aye, destroying the two mirrors would be the thing to do!”

"I concur." Jag says without his usual sarcastic tone.

Jack also agrees."Let me know if I can help, but I think Leandro has that covered."

Landro puts his sword away and takes out a crowbar. That's what I'm here for, to remove 'obstacles' from our path. He chuckles. Landro moves to the East mirror and pries it up enough to get his dingers behind. Muscles standing taught like ropes of iron he bracea one foot on the wall and heaves with all of his considerable might. Loud shearing sounds follow as the iron fasteners mounted in the stone wall begin to give and the mirror crashes to the floor. He angles it away to prevent it from disrupting the braziers. He examines the north mirror but shakes his head. It might be better to deal wirh that one after the webs have gone.

=====
To Nocturno's earlier comment: yes, both Landro and Jack were drained 2 levels by the crystal figures. Allikhain and others agreed to restore them tonight/ tomprrow morning when the party settles in for the evening.

East mirror.
Landro str [1d20]=16, pass

Something tells me once the halfling finishes his summoning, we'll have no problem removing those webs.

Allikhain nods, That's a good point, Stephen. Ke'Sha you should probably have your little friends make their way out of the webbing. You wouldn't want them to get singed when we burn it away.

Jag will stand uncomfortably inside the bubble. Making him feel a bit safer. Jack will stay in the feet of the statue.

Stephen watches down the passage leading toward the thornslinger room and the rest of the unexplored portions of The Labyrinth (aka the north passage) as Ke'Sha continues the summoning ritual, paying particular attention whether or not his eyes and ears agree with each other.

"Indeed." Ke'Sha mentally orders the trolls out of the web.

(OOC: Can't he summon the Elemental away from the web?
With the broken mirrors we will now have hundreds of tiny automatons (hopefully harmless) :)

Stephen moves back to the room with the expired Dragon and the Western door to alternate between watching the newly revealed stair, thornslinger hsll and the Eastern exit of the Dragon's room. He does his best to determine if his senses agree with each other, and nothing he can discrern implies otherwise... for now...

Ke'sha continues his ritual, sending the trolls away from the webs. They make slow progress, but their formidable strength makes escaping the magically conjured entanglememt a simple matter. Thellena, however, is quite another story as she does not seem to be strong enough to escape under her own power.

The halfling conducts his conjuration for a few more minutes, ultimately culminating in a fiery litany. The flames rise higher and higher as the rite goes on, until a yellowish cast fills the inferno. Two brilliant blue orbs burn within a massive roaring figure, which steps from the braziers to the South. Towering above the creatures nearby...

=====
The Elemental will essentially appear where the fire is, since that is the link for it to follow into the Prime. The implication was that fire would quickly clear the webs so the North mirror could be taken down, but any undead trapped would be damaged.

Once the elemental appears, Axid ceases Control Flames not knowing if the elemental would take kindly to such things.

Ke'Sha instructs Alrius and Nidrith to clear a path for Thellena to move out of the web with the trolls following the path and helping pulling Thellena out. Then every creature is safe, Ke'Sha instructs the Fire Elemental to clear the web and then guard the scouting team in their search for dimentional discoveries.

Alrius and Nidrith begin hacking at the webs, but it seems to have little effect. The trolls wade into the wide webby wall from the far side. It takes several minutes for them to push through to Thallena and drag her out. The undead are barely clear when the elemental strolls up with little regard for them or the humanoids nearby, some of whom have to step lively to avoid the living tower of fire, and sets the webs ablaze. The entire process seems to amuse Drommacus to no end.
